Opal serves as the Data controllers for the Users Data gathered in connection with the utilization of Opal services in the Sultanate of Oman and other regions.

Opal stores User profile and transaction Data as long as the User maintains an active account. In addition, Opal retains information related to transporters and Drivers’ vehicles and licenses for as long as the User maintains their account.

Opal retains location, device, and usage Data for as long as it is necessary to provide services and comply with applicable regulatory, tax, insurance, litigation, and other legal requirements. This information may also be used for safety, security, fraud prevention and detection, and research and development purposes as long as Opal retains it.

Users have the right to request the deletion of their account, and Opal will delete all Data that is not necessary to retain for legitimate business purposes or regulatory compliance. However, Opal may retain certain information for safety, security, and fraud prevention purposes, such as preventing a User from opening a new account in the future after their account has been deactivated due to unsafe behavior or security incidents.

Opal reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the App or any part thereof, at any time and without prior notice.

  • Opal may also modify these Terms at its discretion. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically for any updates.

Location Data is used to track loads and aid in navigation, while usage Data is necessary for maintaining and improving Opal services.

Personal Data may be processed for the legitimate interests of Opal or other parties, such as maintaining User safety and security, preventing inappropriate or dangerous behavior, combating fraud, improving services, marketing, and research and development. Opal may collect and use personal Data based on User consent, which can be revoked at any time. Users can also request access to or copies of their Data, changes or updates to their accounts, deletion of their accounts, or that Opal restricts its processing of User personal Data.

Regarding device permissions, Opal follows the permission system used by mobile operating systems such as iOS and Android, and requests permission for the collection of precise location Data from a User’s device. Users may disable this feature by changing the location settings on their mobile device, but they may not be able to use the app if they do so. Drivers are also required to permit location Data collection to use the app.

Opal sends Users necessary notifications and updates related to their account and booked loads, which cannot be disabled. However, Users may enable or disable push notifications about potential loads and news from Opal through their device settings.

Users may submit requests, questions, and comments about Opal’s handling of their Data via email to support@Opal.om These include requests for an explanation of the Data collected and how it is used, a copy of their collected Data, changes or updates to their Data, and deletion of their account. Users may also request that Opal stop using or limiting their personal Data, though Opal may continue processing Data to the extent permitted by law.
